"What I don't like is 'Chicharito' seems like he's won the World Cup with that. It's a tap-in. Turn around and celebrate with Ronaldo. The camera is on Ronaldo for a reason. That's Ronaldo's goal." - Thierry Henry |
Also by stating that Hernandez celebrated his goal as if he had won the World Cup, Henry belittles the significance of the goal that could prove to be momentous both for the player and his team going forward in the season.
That goal hasn’t really won Real Madrid the biggest club competition in the world, but atleast it has now given them an opportunity to do so. Moreover, for the first time in eight attempts this season the Los Blancos finally defeated their neighbours and in the most important game of them all.
Most importantly, it may have just saved Carlo Ancelotti his job which could have been hanging by a thread had the European champions failed to make it to the last four.
Besides, with barely a handful of opportunities this season to prove himself, it was Chicharito’s first European goal in 895 days! It could be game changing for him and his once promising career.
Let the striker enjoy his moment and cut him some slack.
