Jack Warner turns himself in to police amidst Fifa corruption allegations

A warrant was issued for the former Fifa vice president's arrest but he has handed himself in to the authorities.Former Fifa vice president Jack Warner has handed himself in to the authorities in Trinidad and Tobago after being accused of corruption.A total of 14 officials have been indicted, seven of which were arrested, on Wednesday morning in police raids in Switzerland, on allegations of racketeering, fraud and money laundering.
Warner was one of the 14 named in the indictments by the United States Department of Justice, but protested his innocence just hours laterI have fought fearlessly against all forms of injustice and corruption, he said.I have been afforded no due process and I have not even been questioned in this matter. I reiterate that I am innocent of any charges.However, after a warrant was issued for his arrest, Warner handed himself in to the Trinidad and Tobago police in Port-of-Spain.Police said there was a delay in the processing of the 72-year-old's bail, meaning he will likely spend the night behind bars.
