Zidane, who had previously been managing Madrid’s B team, Castilla, was named as the club’s new manager on Monday following the dismissal of Rafael Benitez. He was given a rousing reception as he made his way onto the pitch to take charge of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Co. Having previously worked as Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant when Los Blancos when their tenth European Cup in 2014, Zidane does have experience of working with the current squad. At his unveiling, where he appeared alongside Florentino Perez, on Monday he didn’t take any questions from the press.However, the French World Cup winner will give a news conference after Tuesday’s session at 13.30 CET.
