Man United will sack Van Gaal if they lose to Liverpool

Louis van Gaal is again facing the prospect of the sack if Manchester United lose to Liverpool on Sunday, according to The Times.Speculation surrounding the Dutchman’s future reached fever pitch during the festive period following defeat at Stoke and a goalless home draw against Chelsea.Despite intense pressure from certain sections of support, United chiefs have neglected the opportunity to move for Jose Mourinho, currently unemployed after he was dismissed by Chelsea in December, and gave Van Gaal their backing.United’s form has scarcely improved since the turn of the year, however, and the last minute equaliser they conceded in Tuesday’s pulsating 3-3 draw at Newcastle means they are now entrenched in a battle for a top four position, having fallen nine points behind leaders Arsenal.

And according to reports, should United lose at Anfield against their fiercest rivals on Sunday the 64-year-old will again be in danger of losing his job.
