Roma win was special for me, says matchwinner Destro

The striker's goal proved to be the difference for AC Milan against his parent club, who he is expected to rejoin at the end of 2014-15.Mattia Destro celebrated his "special" matchwinning goal as AC Milan triumphed 2-1 over Roma on Saturday. The 24-year-old had only scored twice in 13 appearances since joining the Rossoneri on loan in January heading into the clash with his parent club.Filippo Inzaghi put his faith in Destro, though, and was richly rewarded when the forward added to Marco van Ginkel's opener to ensure Francesco Totti's penalty later in the game did not prevent a Milan win.The win was Milan's first in six matches and, fresh from toiling against Napoli with 10 men for almost all the match, Destro was relieved to be experiencing a result in their favour for a change. It was a special match for me," he told Mediaset Premium. "I really wanted to do well in front of Milan's fans. There were a few unlucky moments that occurred against Napoli so we really wanted to prove ourselves and play top football against Roma. When asked whether he would be staying at San Siro or returning to the Stadio Olimpico when the season ends next month, Destro added: "I don't know, we will see at the end of the campaign. The Italy international refused to confirm or deny whether his future depended on Giallorossi coach Rudi Garcia.
