The England captain chose the former Real Madrid boss as the best coach of 2015 at the Ballon d'Or ceremony while current Red Devils coach Louis van Gaal failed to gain a vote.Jose Mourinho has been repeatedly linked with taking over at Manchester United since being sacked by Chelsea, and now Wayne Rooney may have hinted he would like to work under the Portuguese. In his role as England captain, Rooney was able to vote for the 'Coach of the Year' at this year's Ballon d'Or ceremony, and chose Mourinho as his number one choice for 2015.The former Real Madrid boss led Chelsea to the Premier League title, but was relieved of his duties in December after a poor start to the season, though his sacking came after voting had closed for the prize.
And Rooney was obviously impressed with the work done by the man who tried to sign him in 2013 as he opted for him instead of second choice Pep Guardiola and third selection Jorge Sampaoli. The prize was eventually won by Barcelona boss Luis Enrique, who led the Camp Nou outfit to five trophies in the calendar year, while current United boss Louis van Gaal did not appear once in the voting.
